Welcome to ASTVS District CM School of Excellence, Ranchi, a prestigious educational institution with a long-standing heritage that dates back to 1839. Situated in the heart of Ranchi City, the capital of Jharkhand, our school has been a shining light of knowledge and learning for generations. Previously known as Ranchi Zila School, it was renamed in 2003 as Amar Shahid Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev Zila Vidyalaya, Ranchi, in honor of the revered freedom fighter, Shahid Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev.
As a government upper primary and senior secondary school for boys, we are officially recognized by the School Education and Literacy Department of Jharkhand. Recently, in 2023, our school was bestowed with the esteemed title of "School of Excellence" by the Government of Jharkhand and acquired affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), having previously been affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi.

The SMC is in charge of formulating and implementing policies that regulate how the school operates, as well as ensuring academic standards and managing the school's resources, which include finances, facilities, and human resources. The SMC oversees the school's performance and assesses its efficacy in meeting its goals. The SMC promotes open communication among the school, parents, and the community.
