Welcome to ASTVS District CM School of Excellence, Ranchi, a prestigious educational institution with a long-standing heritage that dates back to 1839. Situated in the heart of Ranchi City, the capital of Jharkhand, our school has been a shining light of knowledge and learning for generations. Previously known as Ranchi Zila School, it was renamed in 2003 as Amar Shahid Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev Zila Vidyalaya, Ranchi, in honor of the revered freedom fighter, Shahid Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev.

As a government upper primary and senior secondary school for boys, we are officially recognized by the School Education and Literacy Department of Jharkhand. Recently, in 2023, our school was bestowed with the esteemed title of "School of Excellence" by the Government of Jharkhand and acquired affiliation with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), having previously been affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi.

At ASTVS District CM School of Excellence, we offer education at the higher secondary level across multiple streams, including Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational Education. Our expansive campus spans over 12 acres and encompasses a historic school building, two playgrounds, an assembly ground, gardens, and a well-maintained hostel facility.
